Anthropic says a Yemeni group used Claude to build missile software

Anthropic's new threat report says a cell in northern Yemen used its Claude Code tool as a stand-in for human engineers, writing guidance software for a guided rocket and a ballistic missile meant to fly beyond 2,000 kilometers. A test-fire of the rocket appears to have failed. The report also flags a Russian-linked spy campaign that leaned on AI to automate its work, plus weapons-related cases in China. Anthropic says it banned the accounts and shared its findings with partners.
