Europe heads into winter on its thinnest gas cushion in 15 years
EU gas storage sits near 73 percent full, the lowest for this date since records began in 2011. Stocks are set to drain toward 29 percent by late March. With Russian LNG being phased out and Hormuz cargoes still scarce, the bloc may cut winter gas demand by about 7 percent. Europe outbidding Asia for cargoes keeps prices firm, supporting producers like TotalEnergies SE (TTE), Shell plc (SHEL) and US exporter Cheniere Energy Inc (LNG).
