The tokenization race moves from public stocks toward private equity
Tokenization means turning ownership of an asset into a digital token that trades on a blockchain, often around the clock. That push started with public stocks, where big exchanges and crypto platforms are now building the plumbing to settle trades onchain. The frontier is moving to private equity, where stakes in companies not listed on any exchange are usually hard to buy or sell. Putting them onchain could let more people access them, though rules on who qualifies and how ownership rights work remain unsettled.
