Trump declared an "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine on October 11. It then shrank to refineries only. Russia stayed silent and strikes continued within hours. Oil and diesel prices eased on the news, softening the tailwind under producers Chevron (CVX), ExxonMobil (XOM) and the fund USO. A halt to refinery attacks would slow the crude that Russia has been loading onto tankers, easing demand for owners DHT Holdings (DHT) and Frontline (FRO).
