KRE

KRE is an exchange-traded fund that bundles together the stocks of dozens of small and mid-sized U.S. regional banks, such as community and regional lenders rather than giants like JPMorgan or Bank of America. It tracks an index of these banks and spreads money roughly evenly across them, so its price moves up or down with the fortunes of the regional banking industry as a whole. Investors buy it to get broad exposure to that slice of the banking sector in one trade instead of picking individual bank stocks.
