Nutrien is the world's largest producer of potash and one of the biggest makers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer, the three core nutrients farmers add to soil to grow bigger crops. Beyond mining and manufacturing these nutrients, the Canadian company also runs a huge network of farm supply stores (Nutrien Ag Solutions) that sell seed, crop protection chemicals, and equipment directly to growers across North America, South America, and Australia. It makes money both from selling fertilizer on the global commodity market and from retail margins on everything it sells through its farm stores.
