Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF (VEA) is a low-cost index fund that lets investors own a slice of thousands of large and mid-sized companies across developed markets outside the United States, including Europe, Japan, Canada, and Australia. Vanguard charges one of the lowest management fees in the industry, keeping more of any gains in the investor's pocket. The fund earns money for investors through dividends paid by the underlying companies and through price appreciation when those international markets rise.
